First and foremost we are learners and disciples - focused on knowing our God. We study the Bible because it tells us about God, about his ways, about his character, and especially about his plan of salvation and his call for us to follow in his mission. We regard the Bible as authoritative because we believe God has authority over us and we believe God uses his word to tell us who he is and accomplish his powerful acts. Therefore we spend time studying this life-giving, freedom-bringing, and re-creating Bible during our Sunday service. On top of receiving life from God's word we desire to handle the Bible responsibly with a heart of love and wield God's authority with the same life-giving power which has impacted us.
